Amid the rapid news cycle, it’s essential to recall Brentford’s position last summer. They had lost their beloved manager of seven years, Thomas Frank, along with their top forwards, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa. Their goalkeeper Mark Flekken and two reliable figures, Christian Nørgaard and Ben Mee, were also gone (the latter had limited involvement the previous season at age 35). For a club like Brentford, such transitions are inevitable, but this was a considerable challenge.
