It’s a massive day in the SPFL Premiership title race as Rangers look to close the gap on leaders Heart of Midlothian to just two points with a win at Ibrox.
The Jambos have yet to lose against either of Glasgow’s big two this season, racking up four wins and a draw.
But this trip to Ibrox is a major test of their mettle with Danny Rohl’s side breathing down their necks after going unbeaten in domestic action since their festive loss at Tynecastle.
Rangers vs Hearts top betting tips
These sides had contrasting fortunes in midweek as Hearts scored a late derby winner against Hibs while Rangers let a 1-0 lead slip away to 10-man Motherwell.
Neither side have been playing particularly well in recent months but they’ve both been finding ways to grind out wins.
Rangers have found their shooting boots at Ibrox of late though, hitting 13 goals in their last two home games, so I’ve a feeling they will edge this game.
They are usually odds-on at home to anyone but Celtic so the evens on offer at Paddy Power looks worth a punt.
This one could be spicy with so much at stake and I like the 11/10 on offer at Bet365 for over 2.5 Hearts cards.
Birmingham City vs Leeds United
The pick of today’s FA Cup ties sees Leeds United head to the Midlands to take on Championship side Birmingham City.
The Blues spent big in the summer in a bid to secure back-to-back promotions and they find themselves sitting a point outside the play-off places after losing just one of their last 11 in all competitions.
Leeds are also doing well after their promotion to the top flight but they’re still not safe yet and it will be interesting to see how strong a team Daniel Farke picks for this one.
Birmingham are more likely to be a full strength, although boss Chris Davies may also prioritise the league campaign.
It should still be a tight game whatever side each manager picks and the half-time draw appeals at 13/10 with QuinnBet.
Birmingham have won 21 corners across their last two home games so that’s another market worth looking at. Over 10.5 match flag kicks pays 11/8 at William Hill while Birmingham +1 in the corner handicap is 21/20 at BOYLESports.
Arsenal vs Wigan Athletic
Wigan Athletic will be looking to spring a shock at the Emirates but they’re rank outsiders for this tie against Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The Gunners could only draw 1-1 at Brentford in midweek but should have too much class for the League One side even though Mikel Arteta is set to rest some big hitters.
Wigan are as big as 40/1 at Betfred while Arsenal’s biggest price is a tiny 1/11 with Ladbrokes.
The player markets should offer the best value and I’d imagine Gabriel Jesus will start after sitting on the bench for 90 minutes in midweek.
The Brazilian is just 10/13 at BetMGM but the odds increase to 27/10 at Ladbrokes if you back him for an assist.
Wigan captain Jason Kerr returned from injury in midweek and the defender looks good value at 5/2 with Bet365 to commit a foul if he starts again today. The odds increase to a whopping 16/1 if you back him for over 1.5 fouls.
