Tuesday, 1 July, marks the second day of Wimbledon, featuring notable players Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and Jack Draper from the men’s draw.

These three are among the top contenders for this year’s title, making the men’s draw especially competitive.

In the women’s competition, Coco Gauff begins her quest for her first Wimbledon title, while teenage star Mirra Andreeva starts her campaign, aiming to become the next teenage Wimbledon champion.

Jannik Sinner to win the match and under 27.5 games (10/11)

Although Jannik Sinner hasn’t excelled on grass as much as on other surfaces recently, he has a favorable first-round draw this year, which explains his short odds of 1/80 with top tennis betting sites.

The value lies in betting on a Sinner victory combined with under 27.5 games. If he wins in three sets of 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 or better, the bet pays off. Given his performance in the most recent grand slam, where he didn’t drop a set until the final, he is likely to advance smoothly on Tuesday.

His opponent, Luca Nardi, is not a natural grass-court player. In his only warmup match on grass before Wimbledon, he lost in straight sets to a player outside the world’s top 150. Sinner should have no issues here.

Many see this tournament as his best and possibly last opportunity to claim his 25th grand slam, and his grass record is outstanding.

Though Djokovic hasn’t played competitively since the French Open, he should find his rhythm again on Centre Court easily, boasting a grass win percentage over 85% in his career.

Betting on him to defeat Alexandre Muller 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 or better at odds greater than evens seems advantageous. Muller isn’t a grass-court specialist, and his best Wimbledon performance is reaching the second round.

For context, they met once before in a grand slam at the 2023 US Open, where Djokovic won in 23 games.

Dayana Yastremska vs Coco Gauff – Over 2.5 sets (19/10)

If any top seeds face challenges in the opening round, Coco Gauff might be one. The young American has struggled at Wimbledon, with her best performance being a quarter-final appearance in 2024.

Her opponent, Dayaana Yastremska, is challenging, and their last encounter went to the distance.

Yastremska is confident on grass, shown by her recent performances. She reached the Nottingham Open final earlier this month and advanced to the Eastbourne quarter-finals the following week.

In contrast, Gauff has played just one match on grass this year, losing in straight sets.
