Brothers disguised in high-vis jackets
‘A ridiculous attempt to watch the game’
Two football enthusiasts disguised themselves in high-vis jackets as stewards in a bid deemed “ridiculous” to attend a south coast derby clash between Southampton and Portsmouth. Consequently, they have been prohibited from attending matches for three years.
Brothers Kane and Dale Green carried radio devices as part of their ruse to enter the match at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton last September. The Portsmouth supporters admitted to fraud by false representation and entering the playing area during a football game at Southampton magistrates’ court. They were fined approximately £700 each and received a football banning order, according to Hampshire Constabulary.
