Sweden Expels Satoshi Gaming for Operating Without a License - SCCG Management

Sweden’s gambling authority, Spelinspektionen, has announced that Satoshi Gaming Group, operating without a license, has been removed from the country’s market.

Sweden Cracks Down on Satoshi Gaming Group

Satoshi Gaming Group, a developer of crypto casino and sportsbook platforms, has been officially barred from offering gambling services to Swedish players. According to Spelinspektionen, the ban resulted from an investigation that found the company’s operations violated Swedish gambling laws. The decision highlights the regulator’s commitment to enhancing market oversight and eliminating unlicensed operators.

This enforcement action is part of a broader regulatory crackdown in Sweden. In February, the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS) formally requested that the Ministry of Finance amend the Gambling Act, citing a legal loophole allowing offshore operators to target Swedish consumers without oversight.

The following month, a report by AB Trav och Galopp (ATG) highlighted the increasing presence of unlicensed betting platforms in the country. The report pointed to a persistent black-market threat and urged the government to introduce stronger preventive measures.

In response, Spelinspektionen published a comprehensive report in April outlining actions to address the legal gaps identified by BOS. The report detailed the scope and accessibility of Sweden’s online black market and proposed legislative reforms to strengthen national enforcement efforts.

Since April, Spelinspektionen has been actively overseeing various companies operating in Sweden. For example, last week Spelinspektionen named operators like Snabbare Ltd and Betsson Nordic Ltd, placing them under the scrutiny of the Swedish regulator.
