Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been placed in an induced coma after undergoing emergency abdominal surgery. The Nigeria international sustained a serious injury during Sunday’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Leicester and was operated on Monday night.
The 27-year-old’s condition is not considered life-threatening. Medical professionals have placed him in a medically induced coma as a precautionary measure to limit his movement and stabilize his heart rate, aiding in his recovery following the procedure.
