**John Peter Ben Wang Joins as Independent NED**
Melco Resorts & Entertainment announced the appointment of John Peter Ben Wang as an independent non-executive director (NED) on Friday, with immediate effect. Additionally, Wang has taken on the role of chair of Melco’s audit and risk committee, and he has become a member of the compensation committee and nominating and corporate governance committee. The board recognized Wang as an “audit committee financial expert.”
**Wang Is No Stranger to Melco**
Wang is familiar with Melco, having served as a director from 2006 to 2016. He was also the deputy chair and executive director of Summit Ascent Holdings Limited, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, from 2011 to 2019. Melco highlighted Wang’s previous experience, including a five-year stint as chief financial officer at Melco International Development Limited and various senior roles in financial institutions, bringing considerable expertise in finance, accounting, and banking. Wang is a graduate of the University of Kent in the UK and became a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1985.

**Melco Cemented Its Presence in Sri Lanka**
Earlier this year, Melco International Development secured a 20-year gaming license in Sri Lanka, backdated to April 1, 2024, extending their operations until April 1, 2044. Meanwhile, Melco plans to close its Grand Dragon Casino and three Mocha Club slots gaming halls, as Macau aims to diversify its economic activities.
