Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, a leading developer, owner, and operator of integrated resorts with casino facilities, announced the addition of a finance expert to its team. The company leadership welcomed the new member, expressing confidence in his abilities.

**John Peter Ben Wang Joins as Independent NED**

On Friday, Melco Resorts & Entertainment appointed John Peter Ben Wang as an independent non-executive director (NED) with immediate effect. Wang will also serve as chair of Melco’s audit and risk committee and as a member of the compensation committee and nominating and corporate governance committee. The board emphasized Wang’s qualification as an “audit committee financial expert.”

**Wang Is No Stranger to Melco**

Melco noted that Wang is familiar with the company. Before his current appointment, Wang was a director from 2006 to 2016. Additionally, from 2011 to 2019, he was deputy chair and executive director of Summit Ascent Holdings Limited, a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Melco highlighted Wang’s past experience, including a 5-year period as chief financial officer of Melco International Development Limited, and his previous senior roles at various financial institutions, providing him with extensive financial, accounting, and banking expertise. Wang, a graduate of the University of Kent in the UK, became a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1985.

**CEO Lawrence Ho Welcomed Wang on Board**

Melco Resorts welcomed Wang, praising his experience and expressing confidence in his capabilities. Lawrence Ho, the company’s chair and CEO, stated that Melco is pleased to have Wang among its directors.

**Melco Cemented Its Presence in Sri Lanka**

Earlier this year, Melco International Development obtained a 20-year gaming license in Sri Lanka, allowing the company to continue offering gaming there until April 1, 2044. Meanwhile, Melco plans to end operations at the Grand Dragon Casino and three of its Mocha Club slots gaming halls, including the Mocha Hotel Royal, Mocha Kuong Fat, and Mocha Grand Dragon Hotel, as Macau seeks to diversify its revenue streams.
