The NFL revealed the finalists for the 2025 MVP award: Christian McCaffrey, Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Drake Maye, and Trevor Lawrence.
McCaffrey is a finalist for three AP NFL awards this year, including Offensive Player of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year. He had a standout season with 1,202 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns, 102 receptions, 924 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns, leading the 49ers to 12 wins and a playoff spot.
Allen continued his impressive performance with 25 touchdown passes, a 102.2 passer rating, and 14 rushing touchdowns, guiding the Buffalo Bills to their seventh consecutive playoff appearance.
Lawrence achieved a breakthrough in 2025 with 4,007 passing yards, 29 touchdown passes, and 12 interceptions, leading the Jaguars to an AFC South title with 13 wins.
Maye made significant progress in his second NFL season, amassing 4,394 passing yards, 31 touchdowns to eight interceptions, and leading the league with a 113.5 passer rating and 72 percent completion rate. He was instrumental in securing the New England Patriots an AFC East division title and the top seed in the AFC playoffs.
Lastly, Stafford delivered his best season, leading the NFL with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdown passes, finishing second behind Maye with a 109.2 passer rating, and earning his first All-Pro selection.
