Shams Charania of ESPN reports that Doncic and the Lakers have agreed on a three-year, $165 million maximum contract extension, including a player option in 2028, as confirmed by his agent Bill Duffy of WME Basketball.
The Lakers have ensured Doncic’s continuation with the team, positioning him for another substantial contract extension in 2028.
Doncic expressed his enthusiasm following the agreement, appreciating the support from the Lakers organization, teammates, and fans. He acknowledges the Lakers as an outstanding organization and is committed to striving for another championship for Los Angeles.

With Doncic locked in, attention now shifts to LeBron James and his future in the NBA. The Lakers made headlines by not offering James a new deal, leading him to opt into the final year of his contract.
