EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — Despite Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) remarkable victories over the past 100 days, their manager, Luis Enrique, seems to have forgotten how to accept defeat with grace.

After Chelsea’s stunning 3-0 victory over PSG — who had recently claimed titles in Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League from April to May — PSG’s manager, Enrique, struck Chelsea’s Joao Pedro in the face and attempted to grab him by the throat, igniting a post-match brawl at the center of the field.

Pedro, Chelsea’s fresh recruit from Brighton, who netted two goals in the semifinal against Fluminense and capped his performance with a decisive goal in the 43rd minute, fell to the ground in apparent pain, though it seemed exaggerated.

Enrique was held back by his team members while his goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, found himself surrounded by Chelsea players.

The teams were separated before the trophy ceremony, where Chelsea honored PSG with a guard of honor as they received their second-place medals.
