James Trafford did not anticipate Manchester City’s acquisition of Gianluigi Donnarumma following his transfer from Burnley last summer, with Trafford now considering a departure this summer. After returning to City from Turf Moor in a £31 million deal on 31 July, Guardiola expressed his desire for Donnarumma, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain for £26 million on 2 September and quickly became Guardiola’s preferred choice.
