Coventry City fans celebrated their return to the top of the Championship with chants of “We are top of the league,” as Haji Wright’s hat-trick led them to a crucial victory. This win also eased the pressure on Frank Lampard and his squad. Despite leading most of the season, Coventry had only secured four league wins since November’s end. Wright’s timely hat-trick helped Coventry reclaim the top spot from Middlesbrough, ending their six-game winning streak. Although Riley McGree scored in the second half, a penalty conceded right after allowed Wright to secure his hat-trick. Coventry’s lead is now just one point, but the victory felt pivotal, especially since they had only taken 16 points from the last 39 available.
