Despite leading the season for a significant period, Coventry had only managed four league victories since November’s end. Haji Wright’s timely hat-trick was pivotal as Coventry overtook Middlesbrough once more, ending their opponent’s six-game winning streak. Though Riley McGree scored for Middlesbrough in the second half, a conceded penalty soon after allowed Wright to secure his hat-trick. Coventry’s lead is just one point, but this victory was crucial for morale, having earned only 16 out of the last 39 available points.
