Gianni Infantino has had a busy week. The FIFA president was in Rabat on Sunday, appearing a bit uncomfortable next to Morocco’s Prince Moulay Rachid. After initially trying to avoid handing the Afcon trophy to Senegal, Infantino took the spotlight to console Brahim Díaz and award him the tournament’s top scorer despite his penalty miss. He reassured Díaz that he, as FIFA president, frequently makes significant errors in judgment without consequence. Infantino then returned to his Alpine base to ponder the possibilities of Morocco and Senegal contesting the Geopolitics World Cup.

Just expressing how thrilled I am that my entry was selected as ‘letter of the day’ yesterday. Arnd Zeigler and his team were equally pleased when I told them he was mentioned in Football Daily – Holger H Arntz.
Though I rarely read or respond to the newsletter, yesterday’s edition caught my attention. It quoted Timotheéeeeee Chalamet appreciating the ‘English north-east accent’. As a Sunderland native, I read on, only to find he meant the Hull accent. Since when has Hull been in the north-east? Have you traveled further north than Leeds or Manchester? Understand that the north-east likely starts north of the River Tees, including the Rivers Wear and Tyne, up to the Scottish Borders. This area has many distinct accents that one ‘actor’ could hardly master, like Vera – Kev Richardson.
