Fabian Hürzeler Faces Pressure to Revitalize Brighton's Struggles | Ed Aarons - SCCG Management

The call for change is intensifying on the south coast, and the pressure is mounting on the Seagulls’ young head coach.

When Paul Barber mentioned “growing fan impatience across large parts of the football landscape” in his program notes before the game against Crystal Palace, the Brighton chief executive likely anticipated what was to come.

The demand for change on the south coast, which started quietly last spring after Fabian Hürzeler’s team earned only one point from four Premier League games and were knocked out of the FA Cup in the sixth round, has been gradually increasing. Although there was a recovery from a slow start to the season, a second consecutive December without a win followed by more disappointment in early 2026 has added pressure on the German head coach’s shoulders.
