A Clark County grand jury has indicted 41-year-old Manuel Ruiz, known online as “Sin City Manny,” for the shooting deaths of two fellow streamers on the Las Vegas Strip. The incident, which occurred during a live stream on June 8, resulted in the deaths of Rodney “Finny Da Legend” Finley, 44, and his wife, Tanisha, 43, near the Bellagio Fountains.
Streamer Charged with Murder After Fatal On-Camera Shooting
Prosecutors have charged Ruiz with two counts of murder with a deadly weapon. The indictment, released on July 11, allows the case to proceed directly to district court, bypassing preliminary hearings.
The deadly encounter was the culmination of a longstanding online feud between Ruiz and the Finleys, which had been escalating since late 2023. According to police, the conflict reached its climax when Ruiz approached the couple during their livestream, opened fire, and fled the scene. Both victims died instantly.
Detectives pieced together the events using security footage from nearby casinos. The video tracked Ruiz from the scene to a valet station at Paris Las Vegas, where he disposed of clothing and a 9mm pistol. Ballistics tests confirmed the gun matched the bullets at the scene.
Footage from the day before the shooting shows Ruiz driving on the Strip, making veiled threats believed to target Finley. Police suggest this indicates premeditation. In the video, Ruiz hinted at a confrontation, stating, “Wherever you go, I will be there.”
Digital Trail Undermines Self-Defense Claim in Las Vegas Double Homicide Case
Ruiz turned himself in to Henderson police the next day. During questioning, he claimed self-defense, stating he believed Rodney was reaching for a gun and Tanisha appeared to hold something threatening. However, detectives found no weapons on or near the victims, and none were seen in the livestream or subsequent footage. Authorities also allege Ruiz tried to delete incriminating video after the shooting.
In court, Ruiz’s attorney disclosed that officials had collected over four terabytes of digital evidence. Ruiz remains jailed without bail at the Clark County Detention Center, awaiting arraignment on July 17.
The incident has deeply affected the community of livestream fans who followed the Finleys. Friends described Rodney as a devoted father and a calming presence, preferring to use humor to diffuse conflicts rather than resorting to violence.
The case continues under investigation as the prosecution prepares for a highly scrutinized trial.
