The World Series of Poker (WSOP) was left red-faced after canceling an Online Bracelet Event #7 on the second day of action after technical difficulties led to a large number of players unable to log into their accounts. The action continued, which meant that the chip balances of participants gradually whittled down as the day went on:
Players received error messages stating that the app was unable to connect to the server and that location verification wasn’t working. The WSOP eventually decided to pull the plug on the event and will now contact all the people who were still part of the event at the beginning of Day 2:
Many people expressed their frustrations on social media, including those who couldn’t access cash games while the server issue persisted. Others talked about expenses they accrued from traveling across the country and taking time off work to partake in the action.
