The WSOP 2025 Main Event has reached its final table, with nine players remaining from the original 10,112 entrants. The tournament, which started on July 3 at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, is nearing its $10 million top prize as the last participants gear up for the final stages.
All nine finalists are assured a minimum of $1 million. Ohio’s Joshua Payne leads with 143.7 million chips, followed by Germany’s Thomas Schultz with 127 million and Jonathan Pastore of France with 75.7 million. This year’s final table features players from five different countries, preserving the event’s international appeal.
American John Hesp Jr., the son of 2017 finalist John Hesp, has also made it to the final table, mirroring his father’s deep run. With 35.5 million chips, he is a long shot but remains in the competition.
The WSOP 2025 Main Event broke the attendance record, surpassing last year’s 10,043 entries. The prize pool exceeded $94 million, making it one of the richest poker tournaments ever. Play resumes on July 16 at Horseshoe Las Vegas, with the final table airing on PokerGO. The event will continue until a new world champion emerges.
