Infantino responds to player welfare concerns at Club World Cup

Fifa’s president, Gianni Infantino, has stated that indoor air-conditioned venues will be prioritized for day-time kick-offs at the 2026 World Cup to address anticipated high temperatures. Concerns about player welfare have been highlighted during the Club World Cup in the US, which will co-host next year’s tournament with Canada and Mexico.
Enzo Fernández mentioned the conditions during Chelsea’s semi-final against Fluminense, where the temperature was 35C, as “very dangerous.”
