Austria secured a spot in the 2026 World Cup after a 77th-minute equaliser by Michael Gregoritsch against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Vienna, resulting in a 1-1 draw and topping Group H. This will be Austria’s first World Cup finals appearance since 1998.
Bosnia finished second in the group, two points behind on 17, and will enter a playoff in March for a chance to qualify for the finals tournament, which will be co-hosted next year by Mexico, the US, and Canada.
