The subtotal reached $89, with the American breakfast priced at $40, more than the other items combined. However, what drew online outrage were the additional gratuity fees. The bill included an auto-gratuity of $16.02 and a $10 charge for a “Traditional Room Service Upgrade.” Unaware that a tip was already included, the guest added an extra 22% tip, contributing another $19.58. A tax fee of $7.45 was also applied, bringing the total to $142.05. The guest shared the receipt on the subreddit “Mildly Infuriating,” which initially revealed the issue.

The receipt quickly gained attention on other social media platforms. Las Vegas Locally shared it on their Facebook page and X account, where it went viral. Commenters on X noted having similar experiences, often tipping twice after being unaware of mandatory tipping.
