Micky van de Ven has minimized the uproar regarding his standoff with Thomas Frank after Tottenham’s Premier League loss to Chelsea on Saturday, stating it was misinterpreted and exaggerated. The center-back preferred to focus on the team’s strong recovery to thrash Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday, a match in which he scored an impressive solo goal. Van de Ven was in high spirits post-Copenhagen, as his run and finish from one end to the other drew comparisons to Son Heung-min’s Puskas Award-winning goal against Burnley in 2019. This was a stark contrast to the post-Chelsea atmosphere when Spurs were booed off by their home crowd, having also faced jeers during the game.
