Updated 49ers Super Bowl Odds & NFC Futures Following Brock Purdy Contract Extension - SCCG Management

Brock Purdy Inks Massive Extension as 49ers Remain Strong NFC Contenders

The San Francisco 49ers have secured their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future. On Friday, Brock Purdy signed a five-year, $265 million contract extension with the team, including a staggering $181 million in guaranteed money. With this deal, Purdy will now earn approximately $2.9 million per week—more than his total earnings over his first three NFL seasons combined.

Since taking over as the 49ers’ starter in 2022, Purdy has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the league. He currently ranks first in yards per attempt and fourth in Total QBR during that span, proving his value to an already championship-caliber roster.

Despite the blockbuster deal, the 49ers’ betting odds for Super Bowl 2025 and other futures markets haven’t changed. Their Super Bowl odds remain steady at 20-1, making them the seventh favorite overall. This suggests that oddsmakers anticipated the team locking in Purdy well before the deal became official.

In NFC West Division futures, San Francisco is still priced at +145. The 49ers have claimed the division title in two of the past three years and are well-positioned to do so again, particularly with a favorable upcoming schedule.

Best Bets: 49ers 2025 NFL Futures

– Win NFC West (+145)
– Secure NFC No. 1 Seed (+650)

While betting on San Francisco to win the Super Bowl could offer long-term upside, two futures bets stand out more: the Niners to win the NFC West and to clinch the conference’s No. 1 seed. The latter, sitting at +650, is especially intriguing due to their soft schedule in 2025.

San Francisco boasts the easiest strength of schedule in the entire NFL. Outside of their division, they’ll only face two teams that finished 2024 with a winning record—Houston and Tampa Bay. Their NFC West competition also appears vulnerable: the Rams won the division last season despite a negative point differential, the Seahawks are rebuilding after trading away their top QB and receiver, and the Cardinals have glaring holes on defense.

A Fully Healthy Offense Could Be Key

Expect a bounce-back season from both the 49ers and Purdy. In 2024, the 25-year-old quarterback played much of the year without star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, and elite left tackle Trent Williams. Despite those setbacks, Purdy still managed to finish 7th in QBR, 10th in passing yards, and 3rd in yards per attempt across just 15 starts.

Since he became the full-time starter in 2022, Purdy leads the NFL in yards per attempt while also ranking fourth in overall QBR and passing yards, and seventh in touchdown passes. With a healthier supporting cast and one of the league’s most navigable schedules, Purdy is poised to elevate his game further.

San Francisco remains focused on tying up additional roster issues, namely negotiating a new contract for veteran offensive lineman Trent Williams. With Purdy’s extension now finalized, that could be the next priority.

Championship Aspirations Remain

Expectations are sky-high in the Bay Area. A deal of this magnitude sends a clear message: the 49ers are aiming for a Super Bowl title. After coming up just short in an overtime loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 58, San Francisco appears ready for another deep postseason run.

Benefiting from a fourth-place schedule and what looks to be a relatively favorable path to the playoffs, the 49ers are strong contenders to secure the NFC’s top seed and return to the championship spotlight. With Purdy at the helm, they’ve got the talent—and now the stability—to challenge any heavyweight in the conference.
