• Tulsa started its season with a win over FCS Abilene Christian. They have followed up that performance with losses to New Mexico State and Navy. Tulsa is now tasked with its toughest test of the season against an FBS opponent. The Golden Hurricane lost to NMSU on the road and isn’t expected to fare well on the road here.
• Oklahoma State opened its season with a win over UT Martin of the FCS. They have since lost 69-3 to the Oregon Ducks and they are hoping to bounce back from that result here.
• Oklahoma State had an idle week after their loss to Oregon. Their hope is that the extra time to recover will lead to a sharp performance at home in this matchup.

Quarterback Play

Zane Flores has struggled at quarterback early in the season for Oklahoma State. He has 203 passing yards through two games, with no touchdown passes and two interceptions. He was held to just 67 passing yards against Oregon and has to be better here for Oklahoma State to avoid an upset loss at home.

Tulsa’s Baylor Hayes hasn’t been much better than Flores at the quarterback position. He has completed two-thirds of his pass attempts this year. But he has yet to throw for 200 yards in a game this season and the Golden Hurricane will need more from Hayes if they are going to get back into the win column this weekend.
