The EFL Cup semi-finals get underway tonight and St James’ Park will be bouncing as holders Newcastle take on Manchester City.
It has been a rollercoaster ride for the Toon Army this season but Eddie Howe’s side have finally found a bit of consistency.

Armchair fans could be in for a treat tonight, with Newcastle’s last two games at St James’ Park ending in 4-3 and 3-3 scorelines.
Manchester City also smashed 10 past Exeter City in the FA Cup on Saturday so this should be a cracker but the only caveat is that the first leg of EFL Cup semis can often be cagey.

Newcastle will have to defend a lot better than they have in the last two games though and Erling Haaland will fancy his chances of scoring.
It was an incredible that City scored 10 at the weekend and the Norwegian drew a blank, albeit he only played in the first half.
Haaland will be fired up for this one and is evens at Quinnbet for anytime scorer, while Ladbrokes have him at 10/11 for over 1.5 shots on target.
Deportivo La Coruna vs Atletico Madrid
There’s three last-16 ties in the Spanish Cup tonight and the pick of the matches sees Atletico Madrid head to second-tier Deportivo La Coruna.
Former La Liga title winners Deportivo have been in the lower leagues since 2018 but are pushing for promotion back to the top flight this term.
They have already beaten Mallorca in the cup this term but Atletico represent a big step up in class.
A lot will depend on what kind of team Diego Simeone picks but Atletico are 11/25 hot favourites with BetMGM.

Borussia Dortmund vs Werder Bremen
Dortmund have still lost just once all season in the Bundesliga and should rack up another win when Werder Bremen come calling tonight.
Catching leaders Bayern Munich looks like a tall order, with Borussia 11 points adrift after Vincent Kompany’s men thrashed Wolfsburg 8-1 at the weekend.
Too many draws have hindered Dortmund and they’ve had stalemates in two of their last three Bundesliga matches.
But they’re 3/8 favourites tonight at home to a Werder Bremen side who have gone five games without a victory.
Werder have fired blanks in their last two so a home win to nil tonight could offer some value at 13/8 with Bet365.
Jens Stage should anchor the Bremen midfield and looks a decent candidate for a card at 5/2 with Ladbrokes after picking up three yellows this term.
