Thursday's football tips: Villa win to nil looks decent value at 23/20 against Young Boys

Aston Villa’s revival continues to gather pace and it would be a major surprise if they slipped up at home to Young Boys in the Europa League tonight.

Unai Emery’s men were miles off it at the start of the season as they failed to win any of their first six games in all competitions.

But they’ve since won nine of their last 11 matches and another victory tonight would see them plant one foot in the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Aston Villa vs Young Boys top betting tips

Young Boys have made a decent enough start in the Europa League, with two wins from four games, but they’ve crashed to 4-1 and 4-0 defeats against Greek sides Panathinaikos and PAOK.

That suggests Villa could get plenty of joy if Emery fields a strong team tonight and it’s no surprise to see the home win as short as 1/7 with some firms.

Villa have kept clean sheets in both their home European games this term so another win to nil could pay off at 23/20 with BOYLE Sports.

Emery will probably make a few changes and Donyell Malen looks good at 13/10 for anytime scorer after netting three times in his last five matches.

Nottingham Forest vs Malmo

Memories will come flooding back for Nottingham Forest fans of a certain vintage when they take on Swedish side Malmo in the Europa League tonight.

This match is a repeat of the 1979 European Cup Final, which Forest won 1-0 to cap their incredible rise under Brian Clough.

Both sides are no longer anywhere near the European elite but Forest head into this game on a high after a stunning 3-0 win at Anfield.

Sean Dyche has done a great job lifting spirits after Ange Postecoglou’s ill-fated reign and the home win is a tiny 2/9 at 888Sport tonight.

Malmo have taken just a point from their four Europa League games so far, with the Swedes scoring just twice. So a win to nil appeals again here for Forest and that pays a best 37/40 at BetVictor.

Dyche will probably rotate his squad and winger Callum Hudson Odoi could start after a late cameo at Anfield. He’s 13/8 at Bet365 for a goal while an assist pays 7/2.

Rangers vs Sporting Braga

Rangers sit bottom of the Europa League after four successive defeats so it’s do or die for Danny Rohl’s men tonight when Sporting Braga come calling.

The Portuguese side have already beaten Celtic in Glasgow this season, one of three victories so far in the league phase.

Rangers were poor in their weekend win over Livingston so Braga could offer a bit of value tonight at 5/4 with Bet365.

Emmanuel Fernandez looks set for a first European start in defence with John Souttar and Derek Cornelius out injured. That makes him a decent candidate for a card and the former Peterborough stopper is 9/4 at Paddy Power to go into the book.
