Scotland have made a strong start to their World Cup qualifying campaign but it’s still hard to shake the feeling that tonight’s Hampden clash with Greece is a must-win game.
Steve Clarke’s side banked four points from their opening two fixtures away to Denmark and Belarus while the Greeks are reeling from a heavy defeat at home to the Danes.
But they outclassed Scotland at Hampden in the Nations League play-offs, winning 3-0, and will be confident of getting their campaign back on track with another victory.
Scotland vs Greece top betting tips
This is a tricky one to call and the bookies are sitting on the fence, with BoyleSports pricing the Scots at 17/10 and Greece at 8/5.
The draw stands a good chance of paying off at 21/10 but I’m playing it a bit safer and backing the half-time stalemate at 10/11.
Over 2.5 goals has come up in the last five for the Greeks so that’s another decent option at 6/5 with BoyleSports.
This one should be fiercely contested so I like the evens at Bet365 for Scotland skipper Andy Robertson to commit a foul. Doubling that up with a foul for Greek full-back Georgios Vagiannidis pays 8/5.
England vs Wales
This clash between England and Wales is billed as a friendly but sparks always fly whenever these two nations collide.
The Dragons are out for revenge after losing the last seven meetings and this might be a good time to take on the Three Lions, especially with Harry Kane sitting it out.
Craig Bellamy has the Welsh playing some lovely stuff while England haven’t looked great since Thomas Tuchel took over.
They did finally hit form against Serbia in their last outing though and that’s why BoyleSports make the English 1/4 hot favourites, with Wales as big as 10/1.
Bellamy’s teams always have a go so BTTS looks good value at 23/20 while adding on over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to 17/10.
We could see a few tasty tackles in this one and combative Welsh midfielder Ethan Ampadu is 12/5 at Bet365 to go into the book.
Czech Republic vs Croatia
There’s a huge game in Group L of World Cup qualifying as leaders Croatia make the trip to Prague to face the Czechs.
Croatia have got off to a perfect start with four successive wins, including a 5-1 thrashing of tonight’s opponents.
But that has been the only blemish in the Czech Republic’s campaign and a win on home soil tonight would move them above the Croats, albeit having played a game more.
BoyleSports can’t see it happening as they price the home win at 15/8, with Croatia the 5/4 favourites and the draw paying 11/5.
It should be a lot tighter than the last game with the Czechs having home advantage and I like the half-time draw at evens.
We only saw six corners in the last meeting and all of them went to the Czech Republic. That suggests they could be worth a punt for most corners tonight at 6/5 with BoyleSports.
