Thursday’s football tips: Midtjylland winger can Dju some damage at 6/5 against Hibs

Two more Scottish sides are in European action tonight and Hibs have a tough assignment at Midjtylland in Europa League qualifying.

Rangers rode their luck to claim a 2-0 win over Panathinaikos on Tuesday and you suspect the Hibees will need to do the same to get a result in Denmark.

But boss David Gray can take some heart from the fact last season’s Superliga runners-up conceded three times at home as they kicked off the new campaign with a 3-3 weekend draw against OB Odense.

Midtjylland vs Hibernian top betting tips

This is one of the toughest draws Hibs could have got for their first qualifier and BoyleSports make them 5/1 outsiders for a famous away win in the first leg.

The Danes looks justified 2/5 favourites but going for goals seems like the best move based on their domestic opener at the weekend.

Hibs have also been involved in some high-scoring friendlies, losing 6-3 to Ajax and beating Germany side Rott-Weiss Essen 3-2, so this should be a good one to watch.

Dundee United vs UNA Strassen

Dundee United are also in action tonight in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers and have a much easier tie at home to UNA Strassen of Luxembourg.

Jim Goodwin’s side haven’t been scoring a lot of goals in pre-season games, which perhaps isn’t a great surprise given so many new players have been brought in this summer.

But they should get a bit of joy against a team who lost 5-0 on aggregate to Finnish side KuPS in last season’s qualifiers, with all five of those goals coming in the away leg.

Backing United to be winning at half-time and full-time looks good at 20/21 with BoyleSports while the odds are a tiny bit bigger at evens for a home win with over 2.5 goals.

Goodwin’s teams are usually decent value in the corner markets and I like the 8/5 on offer at Bet365 for over five first-half corners.

Besiktas vs Shakhtar Donetsk

The biggest game of the night comes in the Europa League qualifiers as Shakhtar Donetsk head to Turkey to take on Beskitas.

Ukrainian giants Shakhtar are more used to gracing the Champions League and they dished out a 6-0 aggregate beating to Finnish side Ilves in the last round of Europa League qualifying.

Beskitas are huge step up in class though and they finished last season well, losing just two of their final 10 games under former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The atmosphere will be red-hot in Istanbul so Besiktas look decent value for a first-leg win at 13/10 with BoyleSports.
