‘This Is A Tough League’: Temwa Chawinga On Thriving Without Her Sibling In NWSL 2025 - SCCG Management

In an exclusive discussion, the younger Chawinga sister shares her feelings about missing her older sibling Tabitha, her aspirations for Malawi, and her experiences at Kansas City Current.

Temwa Chawinga of Kansas City Current has been crowned the NWSL’s top scorer and MVP for the second consecutive year, following her sister Tabitha’s Golden Boot victory with Internazionale in Italy’s Serie A Femminile two years ago. The Chawinga sisters from Malawi are often compared to the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, in the football world.

“I hope Temwa and I get to meet them someday,” Tabitha mentions regarding the renowned tennis sisters. Currently playing for French club OL Lyonnes, the 29-year-old believes her younger sister will achieve an even more illustrious career despite her own high achievements in the Swedish, Chinese, and Italian leagues, where she has also claimed multiple Golden Boot and MVP titles.
