A Tottenham Hotspur manager’s role is rarely filled with happiness. Thomas Frank has swiftly experienced the range of emotions felt by his predecessors, shifting from hope to disappointment to what appears to be hopelessness. A heavy loss to Arsenal had already placed him in a challenging position. A fair performance in Paris during another defeat barely improved his standing. Losing to Fulham, a team with a poor away record much like Spurs’ home form, only escalated the pressure. It’s worth noting that Frank was appointed under the previous leadership of Daniel Levy, and new ownership is often quick to replace inherited managers.
If such a decision were made, although it might be considered premature given Frank’s tendency for slow starts at prior clubs, Marco Silva would be a strong candidate, having been linked before. Within six minutes, Silva was celebrating on the sidelines with his Fulham staff. His team led 2-0, and the home crowd was demanding action. By the game’s end, as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium emptied, the atmosphere grew even more despondent, with Frank’s prospects looking increasingly grim.
