Sunday's football tips: Double your money by backing Raya to be busy at St James' Park

Arsenal are already five points off the pace in the Premier League title race so they can ill afford another slip when they head to Newcastle today.

The fixtures computer has handed the Gunners a tough start to the season, with games against Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle in their first six assignments.

They’ve spilled five points so far and St James’ Park is always a tricky venue to visit with the Toon Army roaring the Magpies on.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal top betting tips

Newcastle have lost at home to Liverpool and Barcelona this season but they were unfortunate not to take something from both those matches.

They actually outplayed the champions with 10 men so this is definitely a potential banana skin for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Eddie Howe’s side usually create plenty of chances at home so I like the evens on offer at Bet365 for David Raya to make over 2.5 saves.

The midfield battle should be intense and backing Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali each to commit a foul pays 7/5 at Bet365.

Aston Villa vs Fulham

Aston Villa finally claimed their first win of the season against Bologna on Thursday night and Unai Emery will be hoping that can kickstart their campaign.

But if won’t be easy getting another victory on the board against a Fulham side who have lost just all season in all competitions.

Teams can often be a bit vulnerable after Thursday night games in Europe so it could pay to back Fulham to get some joy.

The Cottagers are 4/6 in the double chance at BoyleSports while backing them to win either half boosts the odds to 6/5.

I’m surprised Emery has used Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott so sparingly, with the winger sitting on the bench on Thursday.

He could come in from the start to add some freshness today and looks good at 11/10 with BoyleSports for a shot on target if he gets the nod.

Livingston vs Rangers

The Rangers respite didn’t last long for Russell Martin and he heads into this clash with Livingston in desperate need of a good result and performance.

It looked like Martin might have found a spark after beating Hibs in the League Cup quarter-final but his side followed it up by losing 1-0 at home to Genk on Thursday.

A trip to Livingston’s plastic pitch is the last thing Martin needs right now but BoyleSports still make Rangers 7/10 favourites in West Lothian.

David Martindale will probably set up to frustrate the Ibrox side then look to hit on the counter attack and cause problems with set-pieces.

Rangers should have most of the ball and pressure so I’m backing them at -2 in the corner handicap, which pays a decent 23/20 at BoyleSports.

Bojan Miovski was dropped on Thursday but should return up front for Gers after Youssef Chermiti failed to make an impact. The former Aberdeen striker is 6/4 for anytime scorer.
