Sunday's football tips: Atletico stopper Galan 19/10 for a card against PSG's speedy forwards

The FIFA Club World Cup kicks off today and there’s a blockbuster on day one as Paris St-Germain take on Atletico Madrid.

PSG proved they are the best team in Europe by romping to Champions League glory and now their task is to conquer the globe.

But you have the wonder if they will struggle for motivation just a few weeks after that epic 5-0 win over Inter Milan and Atletico will be a tough nut to crack in their Group B opener.

Paris St-Germain vs Atletico Madrid top betting tips

PSG’s relentless pressing played a big part in that triumph in the Champions League Final but it will be a lot harder to keep that up in the midday heat of Pasadena.

That should ensure this game is played a slower pace and betting against a thriller might be the best option, especially with Diego Simeone’s renowned pragmatism.

Under 2.5 goals pays a decent 21/20 at BoyleSports while betting against a goal in each half is 23/20 with the same firm.

Simeone’s side are known for putting the boot in so the card markets are also worth a look. Stopper Javi Galan has amassed 11 cards this season and he’s 19/10 to go into the book. That looks decent value as all of PSG’s forwards have plenty of pace and trickery.

Bayern Munich vs Auckland City

The group stage of the Club World Cup has thrown up a few mismatches and this clash between Bayern Munich and Auckland City should be one of them.

It’s hard to see the Kiwi side avoiding defeats in all three matches, with Benfica and Boca Juniors the other two sides in the section.

BoyleSports make the Germans 1/500 hot favourites for this one, with Auckland 80/1 rank outsiders.

That makes it tricky finding value but there are some decent prices in the player markets. Most Bayern stars are odds-on for goals but the odds are more appealing for assists. Midfielder Aleksander Pavlovich is 4/1 at Bet365 to set one up and that looks good value if he starts.

Backing Auckland players for cards could also pay off and midfielder Gerrard Garriga is 9/4 at BoyleSports to go in the book.

Palmeiras vs Porto

The late game at the Club World Cup comes in Group A as Brazilian giants Palmeiras take on Porto.

This section is probably the most open at the tournament, with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and Egyptian side Al-Ahly making up the rest of the group.

BoyleSports are sitting on the fence a bit for this one, with Palmeiras at 7/5 and Porto 17/10. It should be a tight one and the half-time draw looks good at 20/21 with the same firm.

All eyes will be on Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao, who is set to move to Chelsea this summer. He’s 7/4 at Bet365 for over 1.5 shots on target and 11/8 to either score or assist.
