Juventus suffered a 3-2 defeat in a tense encounter at Inter.
Spalletti and Chiellini challenged referee La Penna.
Serie A’s referee coordinator, Gianluca Rocchi, admitted that referee Federico La Penna made a mistake by issuing Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu a second yellow card during Saturday’s match against Inter Milan, offering an apology for the incident.
Kalulu was ejected following an incident where Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni fell and gestured to the referee for a card, alleging that Kalulu had pulled his shirt. However, television replays indicated there was no contact. Juventus, reduced to 10 players, lost 3-2, allowing Inter to move eight points ahead at the top.
