Aston Villa’s impressive Premier League surge faces the acid test at lunchtime today as leaders Arsenal come calling.
Unai Emery’s men have soared up to third in the table after winning eight of their last nine league games, making them the form team in England’s top flight.
The Gunners have dropped points in two of their last four league outings and this is a major test of their title mettle with some key players out injured.
Aston Villa vs Arsenal top betting tips
Emery’s side edged a seven-goal thriller with Brighton on Wednesday night but I’d be surprised if we saw a lot of goals in this one.
Arsenal’s clashes with fellow big guns have been pretty tight games so far this season, with under 2.5 goals landing in their games with Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
That bet has also come up on their last two visits to Villa Park so it looks worth a punt today, although the odds aren’t great at a best 4/5 with William Hill.
This match should be fiercely contested so I’m going to try another fouls bet builder. Backing Matty Cash, Boubacar Kamara and Jurrien Timber to each commit a foul pays a decent evens at Bet365.
Leeds United vs Liverpool
Leeds United threw boss Daniel Farke a lifeline with a thrilling 3-1 win over Chelsea in midweek and will now try to add to Liverpool’s Premier League misery.
It looked like the champions might be turning a corner after they ground out a 2-0 win at West Ham but they followed it up by drawing 1-1 at Anfield against Sunderland on Wednesday night.
If Leeds can match the intensity of their triumph over the Blues they could get a bit of joy against Arne Slot’s shaky defence.
Set-pieces were key to their midweek win so Farke side’s could play for corners and free-kicks today. Backing Leeds to rack up over 4.5 corners pays 11/10 at Betfred.
Ao Tanaka is an energetic presence in midfield for Leeds and looks good for over 1.5 fouls at 7/4 with Bet365. He also appears overpriced at 5/1 with the same firm to go into the book.
Manchester City vs Sunderland
Back-to-back wins have fired Manchester City back into the title reckoning but they face a test today against high-flying Sunderland.
City have closed to within five points of Arsenal but they’ve looked far from convincing, shipping six goals across those victories over Leeds and Fulham.
The good news for Pep Guardiola is they’ve also been scoring freely so it bodes well for an entertaining game today.
Combining BTTS and over 2.5 goals pays 11/8 at BOYLE Sports and that looks decent value, with the bet landing in City’s last three Premier League games.

Erling Haaland’s tail will be up after joining the Premier League’s 100 Club and he’s 2/1 at Paddy Power to score two or more goals.
Kilmarnock vs Rangers
Danny Rohl’s Rangers revival has hit the skids of late, with the Ibrox side falling nine points behind Hearts and Celtic in the SPFL Premiership after back-to-back draws.
Another potential banana skin awaits them on Kilmarnock’s plastic pitch tonight, with the Rugby Park side in high spirits after claiming a point at Tynecastle in midweek.
Rangers were held at Tannadice on the same night in an incredible game that saw chances galore at both ends.
Rohl’s side had 32 attempts at goal, with 10 on target, but were undone by poor defending as Dundee United managed six efforts on target themselves.
So it bodes well for another decent game tonight and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 13/10 at Bet365.
Nedim Bajrami has failed to nail down a starting slot at Ibrox but impressed in midweek and slotted home the late leveller from the spot.
The Albanian midfielder is 4/1 with Paddy Power for anytime scorer and that looks a little overpriced. He’s also 17/4 at McBookie for an assist.
