Manchester City desperately need to get back to winning ways today in the Premier League and shouldn’t have too much trouble seeing off struggling Leeds United at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola’s side went into the last international break on a high after a 3-0 win over Liverpool but they have since suffered back-to-back defeats against Newcastle and Bayer Leverkusen.

The City boss fielded a second-string side for that midweek Champions League clash and it backfired spectacularly so expect the big guns to be back this afternoon.

Manchester City vs Leeds United top betting tips

Daniel Farke is coming under increasing pressure after three successive Premier League defeats saw Leeds plunge into the drop zone.

It’s hard to see his job prospects improving today, with Manchester City red-hot favourites at a best 1/4 with William Hill and Leeds as big as 12/1 with some firms.

Everton vs Newcastle United

Newcastle United’s pursuit of an elusive away win continues this evening as they make a tricky trip to Merseyside to take on Everton.

The Magpies claimed an excellent 2-1 win over Manchester City at St James’ Park last Saturday but followed it up by losing 2-1 in Marseille on Tuesday night.

That made it four away defeats in a row in all competitions and their only victory on their travels this season came against Union Saint-Gilloise in Europe.

Everton have lost just once at their new stadium and head into this game on a high after beating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford with 10 men.

So they look decent value at 19/10 with BetMGM to beat a Newcastle side coming off a draining midweek trip to France.

Iliman Ndiaye is always a livewire for the Toffees and looks good at 8/5 with Bet365 to either score or assist.

Motherwell vs Heart of Midlothian

Hearts still lead the way in the SPFL Premiership but they’re starting to falter a bit after dropping five points in their last two games.

They have another test of title mettle this afternoon away to a Motherwell side who are flying high under new boss Jens Berthel Askou.

A midweek win over Hibs fired the Steelmen up for fourth place and they will ask questions of the Hearts defence with their expansive brand of football.

The Jambos came from 3-0 down to salvage a draw at home to Well earlier in the season so it bodes well for another cracking game today.

Combining BTTS and over 2.5 goals looks good at 11/10 with Bet365 while backing both teams to score in each half is a decent long-odds option at 12/1 with the same firm.
