Rod Stewart has canceled all his scheduled performances this month at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, due to recovering from the flu, ahead of his appearance at the Glastonbury Festival later this month.
In an Instagram update, the 80-year-old artist expressed his devastation at having to cancel or reschedule six shows in the US over the next eight days. These concerts are part of his final large-scale world tour. Stewart is set to play the esteemed “legends” slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on June 29, following his last festival appearance in 2002.
His most recent performance took place on May 26 at the American Music Awards at Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater. During the event, he announced his planned shows at Caesars Palace. However, Stewart has since canceled shows on June 7, 8, and 10 at The Colosseum Theater and the June 14 show at Lake Tahoe Amphitheatre at Caesars Republic in Nevada.
Additionally, Stewart rescheduled the June 12 concert in Rancho Mirage, California, to September 20, and the June 15 performance in Paso Robles, California, to September 21.
Stewart revealed on Instagram that he had been diagnosed with the flu and was advised by his doctor to extend his recovery period. Apologizing to fans for the inconvenience, he promised to return to the stage soon.
Earlier this year, Stewart faced health issues, canceling three January concerts due to strep throat and Covid, and after a May concert, he was spotted with a sign saying: “Sorry. Cannot talk. Having vocal rest.”
