PSV Secure Dutch League Title with Victory Over Sparta
PSV Eindhoven have clinched the Eredivisie title for the second consecutive season, narrowly finishing ahead of arch-rivals Ajax after a 3-1 win over Sparta Rotterdam on the final day of the campaign.
In a tense title-deciding fixture, second-half goals from Luuk de Jong and Malik Tillman proved decisive for PSV. Their victory ensured they ended the season with 79 points—just one more than Ajax, who were breathing down their necks in the title race.
This latest triumph marks PSV’s 26th Dutch league title, placing them 10 championships behind Ajax in the all-time standings. While Feyenoord remained in third place, their 2-0 defeat to Heerenveen meant they were never in contention on the final day.
