Luis Enrique was critical following PSG’s “worst match of the season,” although Marseille were unable to exploit the opportunity.
Paris Saint-Germain appeared uninspired and sluggish during their 1-0 loss to Monaco on Saturday afternoon. Luis Enrique described it as their “worst match of the season” and “a very bad night.” His team generated few chances, although the scenario might have differed if Monaco’s Lamine Camara had been dismissed for his challenge on Lucas Chevalier early in the first half. Chevalier, a France international, mentioned his “career could have taken a turn” and felt “lucky” to continue after the tackle was only deemed a yellow card offense.
Takumi Minamino scored for Monaco midway through the second half before Monaco went down to 10 men after Thilo Kehrer was shown a red card in the 80th minute. However, PSG failed to pose any serious threat. It seemed to be an off day, though the forwards’ scoring struggles remain troubling. The result offered Marseille a chance to strike a psychological blow.
