PrizePicks has teamed up with Marshawn Lynch, a former Seattle Seahawks player, and Adam DeVine, an actor and comedian, to create a commercial for the NFL playoffs.
The advertising agency Preacher, based in Austin, Texas, will have Lynch and DeVine satirize the industry filled with gimmicky ads.
Together, they have appeared in 91 national TV commercials.
Mike Quigley, PrizePicks’ chief marketing officer, remarks that “sports fans have seen just about every gimmick imaginable”.
Quigley outlined the campaign’s goal:
“This spot is about cutting through that clutter, having a little fun with the industry, and keeping the focus on what our players really care about during the playoffs.”
The commercial, airing later in January, aims to remind fans of their true interests.
Lynch and DeVine will intentionally walk through a studio filled with football themes that fans have seen all season.
Their goal is to “clear up all the background noise” and showcase PrizePicks as a fan-oriented and straightforward provider of sports entertainment.
In the commercial, the duo will bypass many previous ads and introduce PrizePicks’ Daily Fantasy Sports, the Atlanta-based operator’s new app, where users can make Player Picks.
Additionally, users can utilize the brand new Team Picks, offering prediction markets based around sports.
PrizePicks provides two methods for customers to predict events: Team Picks and Culture Picks.
With Team Picks, fans can predict the winner of a game, fight, match, etc.
It is currently available in 30 US states, including Washington and DC.
For trending cultural and entertainment events, users can predict outcomes using Culture Picks.
Culture Picks are accessible in almost all US states, including Washington and D.C.
This coming weekend, on Saturday, January 17, and Sunday, January 18, there will be four games in total, two on each day, for the NFL Divisional Playoffs.
On Saturday at 4:30 pm, the Buffalo Bills will play the Denver Broncos, and at 8:00 pm, the San Francisco 49ers will face the Seattle Seahawks.
Sunday’s schedule includes the Houston Texans playing the New England Patriots at 3:00 pm, followed by a 6:30 pm game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Chicago Bears.
