After losing Thomas Frank, Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, Christian Nørgaard, and Mark Flekken in the summer, Brentford seemed the most likely existing club to be relegated, making room for a promoted team to remain. Contrary to expectations, they’ve started well under Keith Andrews, alternating between wins and losses, currently positioned 13th in the league, five points clear of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Burnley is in the expected position: second from the bottom, following three consecutive defeats. Despite this, they’ve shown promise, challenging stronger teams with organized midfield play before ultimately losing. Their defensive record of conceding two goals per game is problematic, although one of their three league wins was against Sunderland, a team with a style similar to Brentford’s. Effective passing could give Burnley a fighting chance.
