Paddy Power is known for its creative advertising, and its latest campaign features media personality Piers Morgan to encourage men to get a PSA blood test for prostate cancer detection.
In the video, Morgan strolls through London, exuding confidence in his interactions. A medical professional comments on the minimal discomfort of the test, saying, “not all pricks are unbearable.”
Reactions on social media were mixed, with some praising Morgan for promoting a vital cause, while others questioned the online gambling company’s decision to let him promote his new book and feature in the ad.
Prostate cancer claims the lives of 10,000 men in the UK annually due to late diagnoses.
Morgan expressed his hope that people would “book themselves an appointment with their GP for a painless, 30-second blood test before it’s too late.” The campaign is part of Paddy Power’s “The Even Bigger 180 Campaign,” encouraging 180,000 UK men to assess their prostate cancer risk during the Paddy Power World Darts Championship. The company will donate £1,000 ($1,350) each time a 180 is scored during the event.
