The New York Yankees and Krasdale Foods collaborated to hold their annual Thanksgiving Food Voucher Giveaway at Yankee Stadium. Around 4,000 food vouchers, each valued at $25, were distributed to Bronx residents to help them prepare their Thanksgiving meals. These vouchers can be redeemed at participating C-Town and Bravo supermarkets in the Bronx.
Brian Smith, the Yankees’ senior vice president, emphasized the importance of working with the community to make a difference. “It’s a priority of our organization to work with our neighbors, network and community based partners to make a difference. That’s what we’re doing today,” Smith said. “These are our neighbors, this is our community and we want to give back,” he added.
Christopher Guzman, advertising director for Krasdale Foods, reiterated the importance of supporting the Bronx and mentioned that the company aims to alleviate stress for families and enhance their dinner tables. “We look forward to doing it for many more years,” Guzman said.
Local resident Letitia Martin expressed gratitude for the voucher, noting its significance despite its $25 value. “It’s a good thing because it shows they care about the community,” Martin stated, highlighting the importance of community support.
