The same goes for the surrender option which allows participants for a counter intuitive forfeiture of half the original bet instead of playing what’s clearly an awful hand.
These increasing options provide significant strategic outs and their absence automatically increases the odds for the house. The helm with a hard 16 is an ace handy wherein I highly wish to use the surrender option knowing full well the mathematical trap trying to nexus this hand presents.
Deck Penetration in Shoe Games
How deep the dealer goes before reshuffling (penetration) affects advantage players significantly in games using multiple decks. This is less pertinent for basic strategy players, but reduced penetration makes card counting practically impossible and deteriorates overall odds for everyone.
