New York City FC and the New York Red Bulls will open their 2026 MLS seasons on the road, with NYCFC facing LA Galaxy and the Red Bulls traveling to Orlando in late February. NYCFC will start with consecutive away matches, playing Galaxy on Feb. 22 and then facing Philadelphia on March 1. Their home opener is against Orlando at Yankee Stadium on March 7, followed by three additional home games in March and April.
The Red Bulls will begin in Orlando on Feb. 21 and host New England Revolution at Sports Illustrated Stadium on Feb. 28. NYCFC will visit Harrison on May 16 for the first Hudson River Derby, a fourth consecutive mid-May meeting. The return derby is set for Sept. 18 at Yankee Stadium, maintaining the tradition of a September clash.
Yankee Stadium will host 10 of NYCFC’s 14 home games, including a match against Inter Miami on March 22. Citi Field will host four games, starting with St. Louis on April 4. The Red Bulls will host Inter Miami on Oct. 24 and visit Miami on April 11, with NYCFC traveling to Miami on Oct. 14.
The Red Bulls end their regular season against Atlanta on Nov. 7, while NYCFC finishes at DC United the same day. The 2026 Decision Day is later than the 2025 season’s end due to a two-month MLS break for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. NYCFC will play in Nashville on May 23 before the break and resume in Columbus on July 22. The Red Bulls will bookend the pause with games in Kansas City on May 23 and Philadelphia on July 22.
NYCFC CEO Brad Sims expressed excitement about the World Cup’s impact, highlighting the significance of 2026 for MLS and soccer in the US. He emphasized the opportunity for MLS clubs to leverage the World Cup’s energy and create memorable experiences for fans.
