At 61, Justine Madugu’s career as a head coach is just beginning. After making the 2025 Ballon d’Or shortlist for women’s team coach of the year, he led the Super Falcons to their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations victory in Morocco. Now, he aims to secure an 11th Wafcon title for Nigeria. His journey could have been different; after 12 years as an assistant coach, it seemed he might never step into international management.
