Ravens vs. Commanders – Ravens to Cover the Spread
Lamar Jackson won’t play, as expected – Baltimore rolls with Josh Johnson, their experienced backup, while Devin Leary continues fighting for a roster spot. Jackson’s absence has been routine since 2021. Washington similarly turns to Jayden Daniels, with Marcus Mariota and Josh Johnson also getting reps behind center.

Bills vs. Buccaneers – Value on Tampa Bay

Philadelphia’s backups – Tanner McKee, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and rookie Kyle McCord – appear deeper than New York’s, where Tyrod Taylor is recovering and rookies like Adrian Martinez may see significant snaps. This depth difference gives Eagles + points the edge, while the under 37.5 remains a safe fallback.
Bears vs. Chiefs – Kansas City Depth Makes the Difference
Chicago won’t hold back rookie Caleb Williams, giving him valuable preseason snaps instead of leaning solely on Tyson Bagent. Kansas City is also set to play Patrick Mahomes, backed by Gardner Minshew and a deeper group of receivers. With Andy Reid’s structured offense, Chiefs –4.5 looks solid, while the over 39.5 becomes appealing if both starters see the field.
Texans vs. Lions – Houston’s QB Depth Holds Value
Detroit has a credible quarterback rotation behind Goff with Hendon Hooker and Kyle Allen. Houston, meanwhile, leans on Davis Mills and stays run-first.
That familiarity gives the Lions ML an edge at home. With expected clock-chewing runs and controlled drives, the under 35.5 makes sense for a clean, low-risk finish.
