Newcastle United are hopeful of signing Nottingham Forest’s forward Anthony Elanga by proposing an improved bid of approximately £55m, following the rejection of their initial £45m offer. Both Newcastle and manager Eddie Howe have long admired Elanga, who played in every Premier League game for Forest last season, contributing six goals and 11 assists and helping the team qualify for the Europa Conference League. Newcastle secured a spot in the Champions League after finishing in fifth place.
