The midfielder, now a free agent after her release from Aston Villa, is in advanced discussions with Newcastle for a move. Newcastle, who finished fifth last season, are keen on acquiring the 32-year-old England star, Jordan Nobbs, as a free transfer to bolster their squad for a promotion campaign in the upcoming season. Nobbs, known for her 71 appearances with the Lionesses, became a free agent after her contract with Aston Villa ended earlier this summer.
Nobbs has a successful history, having won the WSL title with Arsenal in 2011, 2012, and 2019. She debuted for England in 2013 and joined the Lionesses’ World Cup squad in 2015, though she isn’t part of Sarina Wiegman’s team in Switzerland this summer. She was honored as the Players’ Player of the Year in the WSL in 2017.
