The Football Association plans to propose a redeveloped Old Trafford for inclusion in the UK’s list of stadiums to host matches for the 2035 Women’s World Cup, set to be revealed this week.
Despite Manchester United’s plans for a new 100,000-seat stadium being merely artistic concepts, Old Trafford is still expected to be part of the bid. There are concerns about the funding of the estimated £2bn project.
